Valencia CF winter signing Manu Vallejo made his Spain Under-21s debut on Saturday night in a comprehensive 5-0 victory against Poland. The win gives 'La Rojita a place in the European Championships semifinals, which take place on Thursday.
In the space of less than 365 days, Vallejo has gone from captain of Cadiz CF's B team in the Tercera División, to playing first team football in the Segunda División, to signing for Valencia CF and getting his debut for the national team at Under-21s level. Also featuring in Saturday's game was Carlos Soler.
Vallejo was picked up by VCF in the winter transfer window, but loaned back to Cadiz CF for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign. Since then, he has scored one of the goals of the season and helped his side to the brink of the playoffs, only missing out on the final matchday.
